Hydrangea aspera ’Burgundy Bliss’ -3 quart
Hydrangea aspera ’Burgundy Bliss’ -3 quart This plant was shared with us by the JC Raulston Arboretum in Raleigh, NC. Ted Stevens of Nurseries Caroliniana named it ’Burgundy Bliss’. It was collected in Hubei Province, China by Mikinori Ogisu and named ’Koki’. Monrovia is marketing it under a trademarked name which we can’t use, so we have it as named in the Raulston Arboretum records. Most distinctive feature is the color of the leaf undersides on new growth - burgundy. Becomes a stout 6’ plant with lacecap blooms. Needs good drainage and some shade in the deep South. Zones 7 - 9.
